An commercial airliner flies over the 14th century Eglise St. Pierre et St. Paul Church,which is classified as an historic monument, in
Goussainville-Vieux Pays, 20 kms (12 miles) north of Paris, August 21, 2013.
In 1972 the farming village of 144 homes found itself under
the direct flight path of the newly-opened Roissy's Charles de Gaulle Airport. Residents started to abandon their homes, unable to
endure the constant noise of the passenger planes flying overhead. Nowadays, only few.families remain living in what has become
